About The Position

The Person In Charge (PIC) serves as a primary contact for customers, providing friendly, courteous, and helpful service. In the absence of store management, the PIC is responsible for the store's operation, making necessary decisions to ensure maximum profit, efficiency, and superior customer service. The PIC also functions as a Cashier-Checker and may be required to work in various store departments.

Requirements

• Ability to follow company customer service procedures.
• Demonstrated prior customer service skills or related experience.
• Ability to interact with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Knowledge of all positions within the store.
• Ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience as a clerk or manager.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service within company policy.
• Handle emergencies, customer complaints, and employee/customer accidents.
• Supervise all store personnel when management is absent.
• Maintain familiarity with company policies and procedures.
• Supervise the sales floor to monitor service and product replenishment.
• Replace stock in displays surrounding the checkout area.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Assist other cashiers with computer, register, and scanner problems.
• Perform basic office functions.
• Operate cash register to total customer purchases.
• Receive payment and count back correct change.
• Bag groceries.
• Offer and perform carry-out assistance if a Courtesy Clerk is unavailable.
• Complete close of day functions in the office (may be required).
• Count out-of-stock product (may be required).
• Count tills when other cashier-checkers leave (may be required).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
