About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Equity and Engagement, the NBRC Person-Centered Thinking Coordinator leads NBRC’s strategic objectives related to self-advocacy and Person-Centered Thinking (PCT), coordinating the strategic objectives and regional efforts to build capacity for person-centered practices. This position is responsible for the development and integration of person-centered practices internally and with NBRC’s external community partners. The PCT Coordinator will represent NBRC and provide feedback on PCT and self-advocacy short- and long-term goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least 4 years’ experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • OR Two years in a relevant professional position at North Bay Regional Center, which included developing and leading training sessions to employees.
  • Must hold and maintain certification as a Person-Centered Thinking Trainer.
  • Demonstrated experience in using Person-Centered Thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and skills in Person-Centered Thinking.
  • Knowledge of adult learning styles and effective instructional design and delivery methods.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching and training others.
  • Knowledge of service delivery methods to people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret legislation and regulations as they relate to the development, implementation, and evaluation of services for individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including demonstrated ability in public speaking and conducting presentations for small to large groups.
  • Advanced skills in using common office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Self-starter, able to work on complex problems and organize multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated critical thinker and innovative problem-solver.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to provide personal automobile transportation, or access to another form of reliable transportation, during and after working hours.
  • Must be able to regularly travel to all NBRC offices within catchment area to provide employee training as well as support and oversight to assigned staff member(s).
  • Must be able to occasionally travel to attend meetings outside of catchment area, including occasional overnight travel to attend statewide meetings.
  • If operating own vehicle, provide minimum automobile liability insurance as required by California Law.
  • Candidates for employment must live within commute distance to their preferred NBRC office, as well as the geographical location of their assigned clients.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred. Relevant fields include, but are not limited to, social work, psychology, organizational development, adult learning, communication, education, or another related field.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English skills are preferred.
  • Fluency in a language in addition to English is desirable and may be required.
