Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Permitting Coordinator to support our Operations team. This role is responsible for preparing and submitting building permit applications to various municipalities throughout the Chicagoland area. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple submissions simultaneously. This position involves direct interaction with subcontractors, field staff, and other non-office personnel. Hourly Rate: $28.85 - $36.54 per hour. This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime pay for all hours worked in a workweek over forty.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook) required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including field personnel.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in residential homebuilding or construction preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in backlog and inventory home scheduling meetings.
  • Upload architectural plans and permit plots to Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Coordinate with architects, trade partners, and surveyors to obtain required permit documentation.
  • Prepare and process check requests for permit-related fees.
  • Prepare, submit, and/or deliver permit packages for new homes starts.
  • Maintain and update construction-related reports as needed.
  • Collaborate with field staff and subcontractors to ensure timely permit approvals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
