About The Position

Grand Canyon Development Partners (GCDP) is a full-service project management company dedicated to helping clients successfully develop and build projects throughout the Southwest. With over 100 years of combined experience, GCDP offers expertise in various project types, including Hospitality, Gaming, Food and Beverage, Retail, and Sports and Entertainment. They are seeking a talented Permits Coordinator to join their Utility and Permits Services team in Las Vegas. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a supportive team, take ownership of projects, and contribute to major developments. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a keen attention to detail, eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • One or more years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Windows/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook/Word.
  • Basic knowledge of Prolog or other Project Management software.
  • OSHA 10 hour certification required (must obtain within 3 months of hire).

Nice To Haves

  • Work experience in design, construction, and/or with a regulatory agency regarding utilities and/or building permits.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, Suretrack and Microsoft Project.
  • Experience with any online submission platforms for various permitting and authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Associates or Bachelors' degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Administration or a related field.
  • A combination of education and work experience will also be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings, and specifications, building materials and building and zoning codes and required standards applicable to discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews, analyzes, and submits various submission packages (drawings, applications, waivers, payments, corrections, contracts, etc.) to Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and reports on the status, ongoing communication, problems, and discrepancies with submissions, applications, contracts, and reports to supervisors, clients, and project teams.
  • Provides direction and recommendations to internal staff, clients, and project teams regarding proper procedures and requirements for submissions to Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Maintains detailed records of correspondence between Authorities Having Jurisdiction, clients, and project team members.
  • Maintains daily or as-needed communication with clients, Authorities Having Jurisdiction, and project team members.
  • Produces weekly and monthly reports detailing the status of submission documents with various Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Maintains internal timesheets of worked hours and coordinates with internal staff on billing clarifications and submissions.
  • Assists supervisors and supported staff with reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness prior to submission.
  • Coordinates and attends meetings with supervisors, clients, and/or project teams and various Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Conducts meetings on behalf of the client and project team with Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Prepares schedules and budget estimate forecasts for fees associated with submission requirements.
  • Assists supervisors and internal support staff with other assigned administrative duties.
  • Monitors the health, safety, and welfare of everyone on job sites and enforces compliance with project-specific safety plans or relevant policies.
  • Monitors the implementation and understanding of all relevant sections of the Health and Safety Management plan.
  • Ensures accident/incident investigations are conducted by the appropriate party to determine causes and implements corrective actions.
  • Ensures all Grand Canyon Development Partners core values are implemented and applied.
  • Maintains daily communication with supervisors on progress.
  • Assists in maintaining accurate budgets and activity reports for assigned work.
  • Monitors schedules for assigned areas and participates in schedule meetings.
  • Promotes positive relations with internal staff, clients, project teams, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Maintains relevant industry knowledge through continuing education and training.
  • Represents the company with a positive attitude internally and externally.
  • Participates fully as a team member, completing assigned requirements in a timely manner.
  • Treats employees, clients, and project team members with courtesy and respect.
  • Acts in a professional manner at all times and maintains a harmonious work environment.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
