Provides customer service for permit applicants; explains procedures, tracks and processes Fire and Electrical permits and permit related technical documents; performs a variety of technical and administrative support functions, including cash handling. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Provides information and customer service to builders, design professionals, and others having business with the County; answers questions as first point of contact for customers; responds to requests for information within scope of authority and expertise. Provides information on procedures, permits and licensing requirements; refers technical questions to appropriate department staff. Issues Fire and Electrical permits, operational fire permits and others; logs all required permit and inspection information in county database systems. Assists the public with understanding inspection reports and explains violations. Ensures accurate payments for inspections and permits issues refunds when appropriate. Maintains records, including permit files and special programs; develops reports as directed. Supports the relationship between the Teton County staff and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned. Takes payments for permits and related fees using county software systems, creates and maintains daily financial reports and submits to appropriate county departments. Assists permit applicants with applications and county software systems.
