Permit Substitute Teacher (MUST have BA or BSc fully completed)
About The Position
The South Shore Regional Centre for Education (SSRCE) is seeking Permit Substitute Teachers who have experience working with children and a completed undergraduate degree. These positions are casual, on an as-needed basis, and will be effective immediately upon receipt of a permit to teach until the end of the 2026/2027 school year. Substitute assignments are available daily throughout Lunenburg and Queens County. Permit Substitute Teachers fill in for regular classroom teachers when a substitute is not available and are paid two weeks behind. They are permitted to pick up sub positions after 6:00 am on the day of the assignment.
Requirements
- Completed Bachelor's Degree in Math, Science, English, French, Business, Arts or related field
- Experience working with children
- Satisfactory completion of the Child Abuse Register check
- Satisfactory completion of the Criminal Records and Vulnerable Sector Checks
- Original sealed transcripts from all educational institutions
Responsibilities
- Take the place of a regular classroom teacher on a day-to-day basis when a substitute teacher is not available.
- Fulfill substitute assignments as needed throughout Lunenburg and Queens County.
