Founded in 2014, Jefferson RISE is a tuition-free public charter school serving nearly 800 students in grades 6-12 in Harvey, Louisiana. At Jefferson RISE, we believe every student deserves a real path forward. The Permanent Substitute plays a critical role in ensuring continuity of learning by delivering strong, consistent instruction across classrooms. Responsibilities

• Deliver clear, engaging instruction aligned to teacher lesson plans and school expectations
• Maintain a safe, structured, and respectful classroom through strong management practices (e.g., active monitoring, circulation, positive narration)
• Build quick, positive relationships with students across grade levels and subject areas
• Provide in-the-moment feedback to support student learning and behavior
• Ensure continuity of learning by keeping students engaged and on task throughout the class period
• Transition seamlessly across classrooms, subjects, and routines with minimal preparation time
• Navigate unexpected challenges with professionalism and a solutions-oriented mindset
• Uphold consistent expectations and procedures across all assignments
• Take accurate attendance and ensure completion and submission of student work
• Communicate effectively with staff to support smooth classroom transitions
• Reflect on performance and actively seek feedback to strengthen practice
