About The Position

Children's Choice, Inc. is hiring a full-time Permanency Independent Living Caseworker in Dover, Delaware. The role supports youth and families through the permanency process, including helping youth exit foster care safely and appropriately. It requires the ability to build rapport with teens and young adults, collaborate as part of a team, manage time effectively, and produce well-written, lengthy reports.

New employees work in person in the office for 60 days, then transition to a hybrid schedule that may include up to two remote working days per week.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Social Work or a related field.
• Experience working with families in a social services context.
• Valid driver's license and a properly registered and insured vehicle.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Time-management and multitasking skills.
• Writing and communication skills.
• Ability to build rapport with teens and young adults and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the movement of children through the permanency process.
• Facilitate child placements and help avoid placement disruptions.
• Provide crisis management and supportive counseling to resource parents.
• Recruit adoptive homes for children with special needs.
• Conduct adoptive home studies and prepare Family and Child Profiles.
• Attend court for adoption and finalization hearings.
• Provide post-adoption referrals and post-placement and post-legalization services to adoptive families.
