About The Position

The Vascular Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (APP) plays a key role in delivering comprehensive care to patients with complex vascular conditions across both inpatient and outpatient ambulatory settings. This hybrid role supports continuity of care through outpatient clinic evaluation, wound care services, and collaborative involvement in critical limb salvage and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The APP works closely with vascular medicine physicians, vascular surgeons, wound care specialists, podiatrists, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and advance evidence based vascular care.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree: Nursing (Required)
  • AANP - American Association of Nurse Practitioners - American Association of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board, CNP - Certified Nurse Practitioner - American Association of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board, CPR - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation - American Red Cross, RN - Registered Nurse - Ohio Board of Nursing
  • Must have a current Physician Assistant License to practice in Ohio and maintain this from the State Medical Board of Ohio.
  • Must have and maintain a current Certification from the national certifying body National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • OR
  • Must have a current APRN license to practice from the Ohio Board of Nursing and maintain this licensure from the State Nursing Board of Ohio.
  • Must have and maintain current Certification from a national certifying body American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), or American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN).
  • Basic Life Support – BLS – American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Critical Life Support – ACLS – American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

  • Works under direction and in consultation/collaboration with physician and may perform services authorized by the supervising/collaborating physician that are part of the physician's normal course of practice and expertise.
  • Promotes quality outcomes and initiatives.
  • Must have a Supervision Agreement (SA) or Standard Care Arrangement (SCA) with a physician in like practice.
  • Practices within applicable state laws, appropriate boards, and in accordance with his/her/their SA/SCA and delineation of privileges.
  • As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality and efficiency in performing job duties.
  • Maintains confidentiality of log-on password(s) and security of other authentication devices (e.g., key fobs, proximity devices, etc.).
  • Ensures privacy and security of information entrusted to their care.
  • Uses company business assets and information resources for management-approved purposes only.
  • Adheres to all information privacy and security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
  • Promptly reports information security incidents to the OhioHealth Information Security Officer.
  • Knowledge and application of growth and development principles.
