Perioperative Support Worker (Perioperative Care Centre)
About The Position
Within the context of a client and family centered care model and under general supervision, acts as a member of an integrated care team by performing duties such as transporting clients to and from required areas using stretchers and wheelchairs, moving a variety of equipment within the assigned areas, assisting nursing and technical staff with the lifting/transferring of clients and with providing support to clients, maintaining supplies for various carts, rooms and storage areas, and cleaning equipment and tidying up various supply/client areas as required within a high volume ambulatory/surgical clinic environment.
Requirements
- Grade 12 plus one year’s recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to organize work
- Ability to operate related equipment
