Perioperative Education Coord- OR Ortho Spine Tower- FT- 1st Shift
About The Position
This position functions within a team of perioperative education coordinators to coordinate and facilitate education, communication, quality/performance improvement, and department survey readiness (TJC and CMS). The hospital is recognized as a Best Regional Hospital and #2 in Alabama by U.S. News & World Report. It features a specialized Orthopedic & Spine Tower, a Level III Regional Neonatal ICU, and the largest Emergency Department and Level 1 Trauma Center in the state. The hospital is a certified Primary Stroke Center and has been recognized for its heart programs. It offers extensive opportunities for skill development across various units and labs, including six cath labs and four EP labs.
Requirements
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
- Current Alabama Licensure.
- Extensive perioperative experience.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- BCLS required (must be completed within the Orientation Period).
- Demonstrated ability to lead and work within a team.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office applications.
- Proficiency in facilities systems (SIS, iCare, Netlearning, Docushare, etc.).
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred.
- Management experience desirable.
- BCLS instructor preferred.
- ACLS preferred.
- CNOR/ASPAN preferred.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and facilitate education within the perioperative department.
- Facilitate communication within the perioperative department.
- Engage in quality and performance improvement initiatives.
- Ensure department readiness for surveys by The Joint Commission (TJC) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
