The Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasound equipment to make quality images of the unborn fetus and of the female gravid and non-gravid pelvis under the direct order and supervision of a physician and in accordance with standard operating procedures. This role uses sonography to conduct fetal surveillance and antenatal monitoring, and assists the supervising physician with invasive procedures as required. The technologist records images electronically in an image archive and reporting system, provides preliminary findings to the supervising physician, and accomplishes patient care in a timely, professional, efficient, and safe manner.
