The Perinatal Imaging Specialist performs comprehensive non-invasive, invasive, and vascular procedures to demonstrate OB/GYN anatomy under investigation. This role provides a physiologic assessment of OB/GYN vasculature and fetal well-being, independently producing technically optimal, complete, and accurate images for the diagnosis of high-risk OB/GYN patients. The specialist must also demonstrate competent understanding of patient positioning and image critique, with minimal repeat work. Professional development is encouraged through continuing education, maintaining professional accreditation, and participating in departmental meetings and problem-solving initiatives. Other duties include ensuring a safe environment, sanitizing equipment, maintaining supplies, and providing technical support for the department's smooth operation, including entering charges and communicating with other departments for scheduling. The specialist may also assume lead responsibilities in the absence of a Lead Technologist or supervisor.
