About The Position
The Surgery Center of Fairbanks (SCF) is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented RN to join their dynamic perianesthesia team on a PRN basis. SCF provides high-quality surgical care in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and serves patients from across Interior Alaska. They are nationally recognized for their excellence, including Joint Commission accreditation and Disease-Specific Care Certification in Spine Surgery and Total Knee Replacement.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Alaska (or ability to obtain)
- BLS required
Nice To Haves
- ACLS/PALS preferred
- Perianesthesia or PACU experience is a plus, but we’re willing to train the right candidate
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and pre-op education
- Obtain and review consents and test results
- Prepare patients physically and emotionally for surgery
- Maintain chart completeness and communicate findings with the care team
- Deliver individualized care in the immediate post-op period
- Monitor patient status and respond to complications
- Provide discharge education and follow-up care instructions
- Ensure documentation and coordination with the clinical team
