About The Position

This position is for a Perfusionist at Research Medical Center and Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Kansas City. The role involves providing perfusion services for approximately 500 heart procedures per year. The average pump time is two and a half hours, with minimal use of ECMO requiring Cardiohelp ECMO Pump. The position requires flexibility with scheduling, including on-call duties approximately two days per week, shared weekly and weekend call. The unit is staffed by 7 full-time and 2 part-time Perfusionists, along with 2 assistants. Documentation is managed through Viper/Spectrum and Meditech.

Requirements

• ABCP certification (Certified Clinical Perfusionist - CCP).
• Missouri Perfusionist License.
• Minimum 5 years of Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) experience.
• Experience with Spectrum Quantum pumps and Centrifugal pump head (not roller head).
• Experience with adults only.
• Experience with Cardiohelp ECMO Pump.
• Willingness to take call approximately 2 days per week.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Spectrum HLM.

Responsibilities

• Provide perfusion services for cardiac surgeries, including CABG, MVR, AVR, Aortic Dissections, TAVR.
• Initiate and manage ECMO using Cardiohelp ECMO Pump.
• Operate Spectrum Quantum HLM, CATS Cell Saver, and Cardioquip H/C equipment.
• Manage documentation using Viper/Spectrum and Meditech systems.
• Participate in on-call duties, including shared weekly and weekend call.
• Collaborate with a team of 7 FT and 2 PT Perfusionists and 2 assistants.
