About The Position

SpecialtyCare is seeking a new or experienced Perfusionist to join their team at HCA Florida Largo Hospital in Largo, FL. The team consists of eight Perfusionists supporting three talented surgeons. The caseload is adults-only and includes CABGs, valves, transplants, and ECMO. On average, each Perfusionist handles 125 cases per year. This opportunity offers a great work-life balance in Largo, Florida, which is located just outside Tampa Bay and provides easy access to local beaches like Clearwater Beach. Largo is in Pinellas County and is considered one of the best places to live in Florida. SpecialtyCare is the largest provider of perfusion services in the United States, supporting 1 in 8 heart surgeries nationally and employing over 500 perfusion leaders. The company supports its team members by allocating funds for continuing education, conferences, and dues for professional associations, encouraging full-time Perfusionists to attend conferences and be active participants in state perfusion societies.

Requirements

  • Graduate of Accredited Perfusion training program
  • Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) or obtain ABCP certification within two years of joining SpecialtyCare
  • Ability to work on Call
  • Must live within 30 minutes from the hospital
  • Bring a high level of ethical, intellectual, professional and personal values that complement the team and company vision
  • Focused on clinical quality and delivering the absolute best results for patients
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a high stress environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Proven self-starter who works well independently and as a part of the OR team

Responsibilities

  • Support surgeons during cardiac procedures
  • Manage perfusion for adult caseloads including CABGs, valves, transplants, and ECMO
  • Perform approximately 125 perfusion cases annually
