About The Position

This job provides assistance and support to the perfusionists as they perform their services. These duties may include setting up of perfusion circuits, physiological monitoring, cell saving, rapid infusion pumps and the operation and monitoring of various types of point of care testing equipment, documentation and maintenance of perfusion records and procedures during cases, monitoring of inventory, and ordering supplies. Assures that all equipment is clean and functioning for each procedure and demonstrates actions consistent with the Advanced Optical Microscopy Facility (AOMF) guiding principles as duties are performed on a daily basis. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must have the ability to work calmly in high-pressure situations.
  • Must be self directed and capable of exercising sound judgment in a critical care/surgical environment.
  • Ability to work variable working hours and taking call 24hrs. a day with a maximum response time of 45 min.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional degrees, business training experience and/or certifications may be combined to meet minimum qualifications.
  • 2 years of experience in healthcare setting
  • Experience in a surgical or critical care environment

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Perfusionist.
  • Maintain and operate Point of care testing and QA compliance.
  • Maintains Inventory.
  • Maintains Technical and Clinical Skills.
  • Other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
