About The Position

SeaWorld Orlando is seeking talented male and female performers, movers, dancers, and actors to portray Halloween characters for the kid-friendly event: Spooktacular. Offerings within this event include meet-and-greets, dance parties, and choreographed shows. Characters appear before guests to sign autographs and pose for pictures, creating memorable moments for guests of all ages. Some characters are also required to learn choreography.

Requirements

Must complete an application.
Must attend the audition.
Must bring a headshot and resume.
Must wear clothing you can move in.
Must wear close-toed dance or athletic shoes.
Must bring water.
Must be available at least two days a week Friday – Sunday during the event dates (August 29th – November 1st, 2026).
Must be available for rehearsals in August.
Must have great stage presence and interactive comedic skills that excel at improvisation (for Actors).
Must be personable, animated, and have fun, outgoing personalities (for Costumed Characters).
Must demonstrate technical proficiency in a variety of styles including jazz, musical theatre, ballet, and modern (for Dancers).
Must be proficient in percussion, brass, woodwinds or guitar (for Instrumentalists).
Must have the ability to play varying styles ranging from pop/rock to Motown to gospel and must be able to memorize music for shows and perform with great stage presence (for Instrumentalists).
Must be enthusiastic and passionate about Halloween (for Scare Squad).
Must have great energy and stage presence (for Vocalists).
Must be able to demonstrate technical proficiency in a variety of styles including pop, rock, musical theatre, classical, contemporary, and a cappella vocal styling (for Vocalists).
Must have the capacity to hear/sing harmonies (for Vocalists).
Must wear form fitting dance attire that allows a full range of movement.
Must wear tennis or jazz shoes.
Must not wear jeans.
Prepare a resume and headshot, which will be retained by the audition team.

Nice To Haves

Partnering skills, break dancing, tumbling, tap, or other specialties are a plus (for Dancers).
Sight reading skills are preferred (for Vocalists).

Responsibilities

Portray Halloween characters for the kid-friendly event: Spooktacular.
Participate in meet-and-greets, dance parties, and choreographed shows.
Sign autographs and pose for pictures with guests.
Learn choreography for certain characters.
Animate and learn choreography if interested in mover or dancer roles.
Animate and be given a side to resight if interested in character or host roles.
Perform in multiple high-energy shows per day.
Connect with guests and create memories that last a lifetime.
Greet guests, shake hands, pose for pictures, and give hugs as a costumed character.
Act as a character escort to assist with guest interactions.
Bring special and seasonal events to life such as Event Host, Culinary Performers and Santa's Helpers.
Add fun and scary excitement to award-winning Howl-O-Scream events.
Participate in improve and athletic stamina exercises.
Perform non-verbal communication and demonstrate physical coordination for costumed character auditions.
