About The Position

CTG is seeking to fill a Performance Management Product Specialist / Mainframe Performance Migration SME position for our client. This is an ongoing contract role that is fully remote. The specialist will perform complex mainframe (z/OS) performance management migrations from competitive monitoring products to IBM performance management solutions, including IBM OMEGAMON. This involves analyzing existing performance monitoring environments, determining appropriate migration paths, activities, timelines, and effort estimates. The role also includes developing and maintaining technical migration documentation, procedures, and recommendations, investigating performance management requirements, and analyzing technical information to identify migration solutions. Collaboration with project managers, internal teams, contractors, and customer technical staff is essential throughout migration projects. Additionally, the specialist will provide technical guidance and support related to mainframe performance monitoring and management, and support technical pre-sales activities, including migration assessments and estimates, as needed.

Mainframe performance monitoring and migration
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
5+ years of mainframe (z/OS) experience.
5+ years of mainframe Performance Management experience.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

Nice To Haves

Experience with ASG TMON, BMC MainView, or CA SYSVIEW preferred
Experience migrating competitive mainframe performance monitoring solutions to IBM OMEGAMON strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of CICS, DB2, IMS, WebSphere MQ, VTAM/TCP/IP networking, and mainframe storage subsystems is a plus.
Basic z/OS Systems Programming knowledge is preferred.
Technical pre-sales experience is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent technical experience may be considered.

Responsibilities
