About The Position

The Performance Improvement Manager is an integral part of the Ohio Department of Medicaid's (ODM's) Health Innovation & Quality team. As Performance Improvement Manager, your responsibilities will include managing the development, implementation, and reporting of quality improvement projects (QIPs) for targeted Medicaid populations (i.e. Children with Chronic Conditions). This role directs the design of Children with Chronic Conditions QIPs, focusing on improving disparate outcomes and care transitions for consumers with specific disease conditions. The manager also directs and/or conducts research on evidence-based interventions/strategies for Children with Chronic Conditions QIP topics, coordinates the identification of applicable quality measures, and the collection and analysis of health services data to support the design and evaluation of Children with Chronic Conditions QIPs for the OhioRISE Plan. Additionally, the role involves developing a methodology and implementation timeline for monitoring and evaluating Children with Chronic Conditions QIPs, including outcome measurement and impact on population health. The Performance Improvement Manager reviews applicable rules, policies, laws and guidelines to ensure compliance with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) rules & regulations, as well as all applicable state regulations, rules and laws. This position also manages and directs contracted consultant staff and services supporting the quality improvement initiatives for the PIHP and formulates policy and recommends legislative changes for Children with Chronic Conditions QIPs.

Requirements

  • Completion of graduate core program in business, management or public administration, public health, health administration, social or behavioral science or public finance; 12 mos. exp. in the delivery of a health services program or health services project management (e.g., health care data analysis, health services contract management, health care market & financial expertise; health services program communication; health services budget development, HMO & hospital rate development, health services eligibility, health services data base analysis).
  • 12 months experience has Medicaid Health Systems Specialist, 65293.
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
  • Must provide own transportation. Or, in order to operate a state vehicle, you must have a valid driver's license from state of residence.

Responsibilities
