This position is responsible for driving alignment to strategy at the department level and assisting with ongoing process improvement initiatives utilizing the principles and methodology of Lean. The role involves conducting operational assessments, reviewing and analyzing processes to deliver solutions and recommendations for clinical and business improvements aligned with SVH strategy. It also includes executing and supporting Value Stream improvements, facilitating cross-departmental improvements using Lean methodology, and coaching teams. The specialist will identify and utilize data sources, assist in determining productivity standards through time studies, and perform analysis to find solutions to operating problems, feasibility estimates, and staffing requirements. Additionally, the role provides coaching to leaders and front-line staff on Lean Management Systems, assists with the design and implementation of changes, and identifies opportunities to leverage technology for efficiency. The specialist will also help establish and facilitate cross-organizational project teams to drive transformational improvements impacting quality, service delivery, productivity, revenue, costs, and patient/customer satisfaction. This includes preparing reports on data collection and analysis, communicating and consulting with various stakeholders on Lean projects, and facilitating improvement team efforts. Training and educating individuals on Lean process improvement methods and the Plan/Do/Check/Act problem-solving approach is also a key responsibility. The position requires 20% in-state travel within the SVH network.
