About The Position

Music & Arts is seeking a percussion teacher to teach and inspire students through private music lessons. The teacher creates an engaging, supportive, and safe learning environment for students of varying ages and skill levels. The role includes building positive relationships with students and parents through regular communication, goal-setting, and progress updates; coordinating with store teams to schedule lessons and encourage student retention; and sharing musical expertise to support students’ growth. Music & Arts handles administrative work so instructors can focus on teaching. The position offers a non-teaching rate of $15.92 per hour and a teaching rate of $11–$22 per hour, depending on background and experience.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or equivalent experience.
Two years of music teaching experience, especially with percussion instruments.

Nice To Haves

Experience with related instruments.
Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctoral) in Music.
Professional teaching memberships or certifications.
Eight or more years of teaching experience, especially with multiple instruments, including banjo, baritone, bass clarinet, bass guitar, bassoon, cello, clarinet, flute, French horn, guitar, mandolin, oboe, percussion, piano, piccolo, saxophone, string bass, trombone, trumpet, tuba, ukulele, viola, violin, and voice.
