About The Position

This is a temporary position for a Percussion Services Lab Monitor. To participate in Berklee Student Employment, students must meet specific requirements including enrollment status, GPA, and US residency. This role involves managing practice rooms and gear, maintaining instruments, and assisting faculty and artists. Additional duties may include cleaning, repairing, and transporting percussion equipment, especially during semester breaks or for events like Percussion Festivals.

Requirements

• Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
• Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program (or pre-registered for fall if working summer only).
• Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
• Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
• A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA (first-semester students are exempt).
• Federal Work Study student may apply.
• In good disciplinary standing.
• Must be located in the U.S.
• Must be a Percussionist of some sort at the college.
• Basic skills of cleaning, repairing, tuning, maintenance, etc of drums, various percussion and mallet instruments.
• Basic computer and organization skills.

Nice To Haves

• Work-study will help clean, re-head, repair, transport, percussion department items during semester breaks or other times if available.
• Work-study may be called upon to work other Percussion Work-study shifts around the percussion department and help with the Percussion Festivals.

Responsibilities

• Signing in and out of practice rooms/gear and basic security of areas.
• Holding student IDs during the time period of use.
• Checking all rooms/instruments for damage or theft upon return.
• Maintaining a log of room/gear use and reporting all damage to the Manager.
• Cleaning and maintaining all the percussion instruments and rooms.
• Assisting faculty and visiting artists with gear moves.
