About The Position

Peak Veterinary Hospital, located in Williston, VT, is actively seeking an experienced Per Diem Veterinary Technician to join its team. This position offers a valuable opportunity for professional growth and knowledge expansion within a dedicated team of veterinary professionals. Per Diem employees are expected to commit to a minimum of two shifts per month. Peak Veterinary Referral Center operates a 14,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art hospital, providing advanced diagnostics, treatments, and continuous 24-hour care for hospitalized patients seven days a week. The facility offers specialized referral services across various fields including internal medicine, surgery, oncology, radiology, and behavior, serving a wide region encompassing northern New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire. In 2021, Peak further expanded its services by launching a 7-day-per-week veterinary Urgent Care service to address non-critical pet medical needs. Requirements

  • Minimum of 1+ year of experience working in a veterinary hospital setting required.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills that enable them to develop and foster long term positive working relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community.
  • Work well independently and in a team environment where colleagues lead by example and hold themselves accountable for quality medicine and customer service.
  • Strong computer skills to work with a paperless information system.
  • Flexible, cooperative, dependable, responsible, and good time-management skills to work in a fast-pace environment that can be highly stressful at times.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology (for recent graduates)
  • CVT, LVT, or VTS desired but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Triaging incoming patients and managing clients throughout their visit
  • Partner with DVM’s in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
  • Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates.
  • Utilize different modalities of imaging for patient assessment.
  • Executing, monitoring, and recovering all assigned sedation and anesthetic events.
