About The Position

Alice Hyde Medical Center is seeking a Per Diem Ultrasound Technologist to join their Radiology Department. This position has no committed hours and is not benefit eligible. The technologist will be responsible for performing ultrasound procedures, interacting with patients and physicians, and maintaining equipment knowledge. The role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and BLS certification. The facility is part of the University of Vermont Health network, emphasizing community-focused care with access to advanced technology and treatment options.

Requirements

  • Must be registered by RDMS (Ab, OB or RVT) or pass the RDMS Registry within one year of meeting the eligibility requirements.
  • Requires sufficient sensitivity and interpersonal skills in dealing with apprehensive patients and family in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Requires positive and effective communication skills for interaction with physicians and staff in any situation.
  • Requires the ability to think and act quickly in order to deliver efficient quality care in a variety of stressful situations.
  • Must be BLS certified (or obtained within 3 months).

Nice To Haves

  • Eligibility requirements will be reviewed by employee and manager/supervisor.
  • In the event that an employee has unsuccessfully attempted to become registered within the required timeframe, the employee is granted a six-month extension to become registered/credentialed.
