About The Position

Evaluates and treats patient populations for speech-language therapy needs within an assigned area.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient's ability to safely and effectively perform speech/language skills.
  • Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.
  • Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
  • Documents subjective, objective, assessment findings and plan, and patient progress.
  • Educates and counsels patients and family/caregiver.
  • Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting.
  • Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
  • Supervises activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.
  • Some employees in this job may operate a motor vehicle to conduct MaineGeneral Health business.
