About The Position

Coordinates and provides family-centered nursing care to infants, children and adolescents, utilizing the nursing process. Accountable for professional practice including independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions performed in collaboration with other health team members. This is an MNA contract position. Our St. Paul float team is an integral part of nursing services and provides a valuable resource to the entire Children's Minnesota St. Paul Campus. Float team members apply skills in a number of areas and are extremely knowledgeable, resourceful and flexible with the care they provide and units they support. Our nursing care team consists of registered nurses, clinical support associates and unit operations coordinators. RNs hired into this area would support all medical surgical areas as well have the option of choosing the NICU or the PICU track (including the ED and PACU), while Unit Operations Coordinators and Clinical Support Associates hired into this area would support all the areas in the hospital on the St Paul campus. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Minnesota RN licensure.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • One (1) year experience (within the last 2 years) working with specialized patient population (e.g. Neurosciences, inpatient psychiatry).
  • Current Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification required or obtained during orientation.
  • Successful completion of an occupational health assessment, drug screen, background investigation, and compliance with the U.S. Government Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric experience preferred.
  • Department specific required qualifications need to be obtained within 6 months of employment.
