About The Position

At Destine Prep, the Operations Team is responsible for ensuring the school runs smoothly by handling tasks such as food service, cleaning, and general operational support. They are looking for a Per Diem Operations Associate who is dependable, flexible, hardworking, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized, safe, and efficient environment. This is a hands-on role that requires individuals to be ready to assist wherever needed, acting as "Transformers" to address unexpected needs and keep the school operational.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Willingness to complete required food safety and workplace safety training.
  • Ability to follow clear instructions and established procedures.
  • Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and safety.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and stoop.
  • Ability to work in kitchen, custodial, classroom, and general school environments.
  • Ability to perform cleaning, sanitizing, food service, and other hands-on operational tasks.
  • Dependable: Show up on time, ready to work.
  • Flexible: Able to shift gears when the day doesn't go as planned.
  • Hands-On: Not afraid to roll up sleeves and get to work.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior food service, cafeteria, cleaning, or custodial experience preferred.
  • School-based experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support breakfast, lunch, and snack service, including basic food preparation, portioning, packaging, and setup.
  • Transport food, supplies, and equipment to classrooms and service areas.
  • Assist with temperature checks and basic production logs under supervision.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and service areas, and keep food storage areas organized.
  • Help organize inventory and restock supplies.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and school procedures.
  • Provide additional meal service coverage during absences, busy periods, and special events.
  • Provide cleaning coverage during peak times, absences, and special events.
  • Clean and sanitize assigned areas according to school standards.
  • Support deep cleaning projects, including floor care, classroom resets, and seasonal cleaning.
  • Help prepare spaces before and after school events and activities.
  • Keep classrooms, common areas, and operational spaces clean, safe, and organized.
  • Restock and organize cleaning and operational supplies.
  • Follow all safety and chemical-handling procedures.
  • Jump in to support changing operational needs.
  • Help with setup and breakdown for school events.
  • Move supplies, materials, and equipment where they need to go.
  • Support inventory organization and restocking.
  • Follow established systems, routines, and procedures.
  • Work alongside the Operations team to keep the school moving.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.
