About The Position

KTTV Fox 11 seeks a Per Diem News Photographer to shoot and edit compelling, creative, and fast-paced visual stories for broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms. This union-represented role often requires being on the front lines of breaking news. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $61.81 per hour.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years' experience as a general assignment news photographer in a top-market station is often preferred.
• Proficiency in non-linear editing systems (e.g., Grass Valley Edius, Adobe Premiere).
• Proficiency with LiveU/backpack technology.
• Ability to carry, transport, and operate up to 55 lbs of camera equipment.
• Availability to work irregular hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• A clean driving record is required.

Responsibilities

• Shoot and edit compelling, creative, and fast-paced visual stories for broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms.
• Capture high-quality video, lighting, and audio in the field, newsroom, and studio, aiming for creative visuals that enhance storytelling.
• Edit daily news packages, voiceovers, and special projects under tight deadlines.
• Operate digital microvans, ENG trucks, bonded cellular units (LiveU, Dejero), and satellite equipment for live shots.
• Work closely with reporters in the field or operate as a solo photojournalist, creating, shooting, and editing content alone.
• Contribute to digital-first content for online platforms.
