About The Position

WROC/RochesterFirst is seeking a News Photographer to join their award-winning team. WROC/RochesterFirst is Rochester, NY’s trusted local source for news, weather, and information across all platforms, boasting a 75-year brand history. Rochester, NY, is highlighted as an affordable housing market with a high quality of life. The primary responsibility of this role is to shoot and edit video content for both television and digital platforms.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in photography/communications, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
• Fluency in English; excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to work extended hours, as needed

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in news photography with linear editing preferred
• Experience with other broadcast related equipment

Responsibilities

• Shoots and edits video for news reports solo and with reporters
• Conducts interviews, gathers information in the field
• Operates TVU in live remote situations
• Utilizes mobile technology to post to station digital and social media sites
• Ensures station compliance with rules and regulations applicable to FCC, local, state, and federal laws
• Performs other duties as assigned
