The Imaging Technologist provides the department with basic diagnostic x-ray skills in operating and performing the various tasks in preparing, executing, and completing procedures. This would include proper order review, basic radiologic skills, and patient care experience. If assigned to Urgent Care/Sequoia Prompt Care, responsibilities also include escorting patients to exam rooms, taking and recording vital signs, ensuring paperwork completion, assisting with patient flow, entering information into the medical record, obtaining pre-certification for procedures, assuring correct coding, accurately entering vital signs into the patient management computer system, using department computer systems, answering the telephone, making appointments, providing information and referrals, transporting patients, and participating in patient assessment. The role also involves assisting with training radiology technology students, acting as a role model, participating in performance improvement and quality assurance, assisting other team members, and demonstrating knowledge of growth and development for diverse patient populations.
