The Home in Walpole is a residential treatment placement for adolescent youth who need specialized treatment as they heal from the traumatic events that have shaped their young lives. Our strength-based clinical services help youth learn to manage their behaviors while preparing them for life in the community. The Home in Walpole is looking for Per-Diem Residential Counselors to make a difference in the lives of youth with trauma histories, developmental delays and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis. How You'll Be Making a Difference You'll be joining a dynamic team of professionals implementing our trauma-informed care model. Supporting youth in developing the skills they need to successfully transition home to families. Teaching age appropriate life skills, coping skills, and social skills through modeling, counseling, and other techniques. Participating in groups and activities designed to enhance youth growth and development. Participating in both on-site and off-site recreational/educational activities. Maintaining a safe and supportive environment. What to Expect in the Role Passing the CORI/background check and having a valid ID Being physically active for an 8-10 hour shift Participating in verbal de-escalation and physical intervention with youth Multi-tasking in a changing and fast-paced treatment environment Receiving and implement feedback in the moment and through a structured supervision process Ability to work evenings, holidays, weekend shifts as required
