$80,000 - $100,000Onsite

About The Position

The People Team Business Partner serves as a key point of contact for employee relations, performance management, and policy guidance within their assigned client group. This role partners closely with managers and department leaders to build trust in HR as a strategic resource, supports employees through leave of absence and performance processes, and contributes to engagement, recognition, and talent development programs. The ideal candidate balances strong interpersonal skills with sound judgment on compliance matters, and is comfortable moving between hands-on employee support and higher-level process improvement work.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of progressive HR Business Partner or Employee Relations experience, including exposure to performance management, leave administration, and basic workplace investigations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance areas such as PTO, leaves of absence (FMLA/state equivalents), and disciplinary procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and advise managers on performance feedback, corrective conversations, attendance expectations, and communication practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to position HR as a trusted advisor across departments and leadership levels.
  • Experience generating and interpreting HR metrics/reports (turnover, tenure, headcount, leave usage) to inform leadership decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations concerns, escalating complex cases to senior HR leadership as needed.
  • Support performance management cycles — track 90-day, 1-year, and 2-year reviews, assist managers with documentation, and flag performance risks.
  • Assist in conducting basic investigations (attendance concerns, policy violations), documenting findings, and coordinating next steps with HR leadership.
  • Coach managers on attendance expectations, corrective conversations, and communication etiquette.
  • Interpret and communicate HR policies (PTO, leaves of absence, disciplinary procedures) to employees and managers in a clear, supportive manner.
  • Track and initiate internal leave of absence workflows, coordinating return-to-work notifications.
  • Build relationships with center and department leaders, positioning HR as a trusted resource, not just a compliance function.
  • Provide basic HR coaching on performance feedback, schedule management, onboarding accountability, and labor practices.
  • Participate in employee engagement initiatives such as wellness challenges and special events coordination.
  • Recommend improvements to anniversary, recognition, and reward programs based on employee feedback.
  • Development and administration of talent development programs.
  • Assist in generating standard HR reports (turnover, tenure, headcount, leave usage) for leadership.
  • Identify recurring pain points in employee communication processes and suggest automation or policy clarifications.
  • Participate in HR project work.
