About The Position

Augustus is building a bank from scratch in an era where banking is being reinvented. We are developing a stablecoin-native clearing bank that is always open and operates at the speed of compute. We are a team of experienced operators, early employees from successful startups, and founders, all drawn to this industry-defining opportunity. We have secured $40M in funding from prominent investors and are already operational in Europe. We are now establishing our US team and expanding our European presence. This role is crucial for building the team, office, and culture from the ground up in the US. Initially, the focus will be on recruiting, including building pipelines, closing hires, and maintaining a high hiring bar. As the company grows, the role will expand to include onboarding, business partnering, and other essential functions for a fast-growing, regulated startup, requiring a sharp, low-ego individual who can execute.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of recruiting experience, ideally in a high-growth startup or tech environment.
  • Based in New York or willing to relocate.
  • This is an in-office role.
  • AI-native.
  • Exceptional written and verbal English skills – precise, confident, persuasive.
  • Comfortable operating as a generalist from day one.
  • Ability to get hires across the line.
  • Ability to handle objections and remove blockers between candidate and offer.
  • Desire to grow into a broad people remit over time.

Responsibilities

  • Build pipelines through LinkedIn, GitHub, referrals, and niche communities.
  • Own candidate communication end-to-end, including outreach, follow-up, and scheduling.
  • Manage recruiting at full pace with minimal supervision.
  • Push back on hiring managers when a candidate does not meet the hiring bar.
  • Own onboarding for new US hires, ensuring a smooth day-one experience.
  • Close hires by following up promptly, handling objections, and removing blockers.
  • Grow into broader people responsibilities over time, including employee relations and business partnering.
  • Contribute to the development of the people infrastructure needed for Augustus to succeed.
  • Automate administrative tasks to focus on people-related initiatives.
