About The Position

Advocacy - Giving People a Voice & Making a Real Difference. At N‑Compass, we support some of the most vulnerable people in our communities to understand their rights, express their views and have real choice and control over decisions affecting their lives. We’re now looking for a Multi‑Specialist Advocate to join our passionate, values‑driven team. As a Multi‑Specialist Advocate, you’ll provide independent, person‑centred advocacy across a range of statutory and non‑statutory services, including Mental Capacity, Mental Health and Care Act advocacy. You’ll work directly with individuals, often in complex or emotionally challenging situations, ensuring their voice is central and their wishes are respected. This is a varied and rewarding role, delivered across different settings, from community locations to inpatient mental health wards, where no two days are the same and your impact is tangible. You can expect regular team working, alongside community work with the people we support and the flexibility to work from home, as such, a full driving licence and use of a car is required for this role.

  • Excellent listening and communication skills, with the ability to build trust quickly.
  • The confidence to work independently while knowing when to seek support.
  • The ability to manage emotionally complex situations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Clear and accurate record-keeping skills, with confidence using case management systems.
  • A commitment to equality, dignity and empowering others.
  • A full driving licence and use of a car.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Mental Capacity, Mental Health and Care Act advocacy services.
  • Experience of advocacy, health, social care or voluntary sector work.
