About The Position

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced People Relations Consultant Senior to advise leaders, physicians, faculty, residents, fellows, teammates, and business partners navigating complex people-related concerns. As part of the People Relations & Enablement team, this role helps leaders address concerns early, assess risk and root causes, and make informed decisions that support performance, culture, and sustained improvement. The consultant uses a strategic, relationship-driven, coaching approach to shift people support from reactive responses toward proactive prevention and enablement. The role applies a consultative framework to workplace concerns, distinguishes matters requiring formal investigation from those better suited to advisory or coaching support, and promotes consistent, fair, respectful, and thoughtful resolution. The consultant also collaborates across service lines, identifies trends and systemic challenges, and contributes to evolving workflows, tools, and practices.

  • Strong communication, consultation, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with leaders, teammates, and cross-functional partners.
  • Resilience and sound judgment when supporting sensitive or complex workplace matters.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work across teams and service lines.
  • Understanding of the external HR, employee relations, and workplace culture landscape.
  • Ability to scale impact by identifying trends, sharing insights, and supporting proactive solutions.
  • No licensure, registration, or certification required.
