About The Position

TOMRA Collections is looking for a P&O Generalist to join their team in Shelton, CT. This role will help drive a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace across multiple locations. The P&O Generalist will partner with leaders on employee relations, policies, and employment law, ensure consistent interpretation and compliance of P&O policies, support benefits administration, assist with recruitment and onboarding, lead employee training and development, advise managers on personnel practices, manage performance programs, conduct investigations, maintain HRIS data, and travel up to 50% to support teams across the Northeast.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of HR practices and employment laws
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor’s + 2–4 years HR experience OR Master’s + 1 year HR experience OR 6+ years of relevant experience

  • ADP Workforce Now a plus
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
  • Experience in multi-state or decentralized environments is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders to provide guidance on employee relations, policies, and employment law
  • Ensure consistent and accurate interpretation of P&O policies across the organization and conducts regular audits to monitor and enforce compliance
  • Support benefits administration, including invoicing, open enrollment and vendor coordination
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and background checks
  • Lead and support employee training and development initiatives
  • Provide advice and counsel to managers and supervisors regarding personnel practices, policy and employment laws
  • Help manage performance programs and workforce planning efforts
  • Conduct investigations and support employee relations matters such as disciplinary procedures and appropriate corresponding paperwork/documentation
  • Maintain HRIS data and ensure compliance across all processes
  • Travel (up to 50%) to support teams across the Northeast
