About The Position

Parallel is a web infrastructure company. Our products are used by leading businesses in sales, marketing, insurance, and coding to build best-in-class AI agents with flexible and powerful programmatic access to the web. We've raised $230 million from Kleiner Perkins, Sequoia, Index Ventures, Spark Capital, Khosla Ventures, First Round, and Terrain to build the web for AIs. We're currently valued at $2 billion and we're forming a world-class team of engineers, designers, marketers, sellers, researchers, and operational experts to achieve our mission. You will be Parallel's first People Ops hire, which means you own everything from the employee lifecycle to the compliance infrastructure that lets us scale past the thresholds that matter. Rippling is already in place — your job isn't to implement systems, it's to run them well and build the layer of process and judgment on top that a growing company actually needs. You'll manage benefits administration, onboarding and offboarding, employee relations, and compliance.

Requirements

  • Five or more years in People Ops
  • At least some experience at a startup building things that didn't exist yet
  • Knowledge of employment law sufficient to spot compliance gaps
  • Experience managing HRIS platforms (Rippling or something close)
  • Experience handling sensitive employee matters with discretion and maintaining trust
  • Ability to create a playbook without one being provided
