People Operations & Talent Acquisition Manager
About The Position
VHCM supports two growing veterinary organizations: Community Care Veterinary Specialists, a specialty and emergency hospital, and Newberry Animal Hospital Group, a 4-location general practice. This role is about 55% recruiting and 45% HR, and reports directly to the COO. There's no big HR department to inherit. You'll build the systems. This role offers a direct line to the COO, real ownership, and the chance to shape how two growing organizations hire and support their people. Requirements
- 4+ years in talent acquisition or full-cycle recruiting.
- Experience building programs or supervising others.
- Working knowledge of employment law and payroll.
- Strong organization.
- You'll juggle open roles across 5 locations.
Nice To Haves

- Veterinary or healthcare experience
Responsibilities
- Own full-cycle recruiting across both organizations, including DVMs.
- Build pipelines through vet schools, tech programs, referrals, and externships.
- Standardize our hiring workflow and applicant tracking system.
- Update policies and the employee manual, and support compliance (FMLA, ADA, workers' comp).
- Set the performance review cadence and lead the annual comp review.
