About The Position

Little Land Pediatric Therapy & Play Gym is a mission-driven organization dedicated to helping children reach their full developmental potential. We provide ABA, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech-language pathology services across locations in Texas and California. Our team is passionate, close-knit, and deeply committed to the families we serve. We are looking for a People & Operations Manager to be the operational backbone of our team. This is a wide-ranging, high-trust role that sits at the intersection of human resources, team culture, training, and day-to-day operations across our Cedar Park, TX and Arcadia, CA corporate locations. You will own the full employee lifecycle from recruiting through offboarding, build out our training and development infrastructure, and serve as a culture champion who helps our team feel seen, supported, and set up to grow. Alongside that, you will keep our internal operations running smoothly by managing vendor relationships, facilities coordination, and cross-location administrative systems. This role reports directly to the CEO and partners closely with our Chief of Staff. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in HR, people operations, or a combined HR/operations role
  • Experience supporting multi-site or multi-state teams
  • Working knowledge of California employment law and HR compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated experience with full-cycle recruiting, payroll administration, and benefits coordination
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a natural ability to connect with people at every level
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities without losing the details
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms, payroll systems, and standard HR and operations tools

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare, pediatric therapy, or a clinical services environment
  • Familiarity with clinical credential types and licensure requirements across OT, PT, SLP, and ABA disciplines
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent HR certification
  • Experience building or improving onboarding programs, training infrastructure, or culture initiatives from the ground up
  • Prior experience in a high-growth, multi-location business or franchise environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for clinical and administrative roles across Cedar Park and Arcadia, including OT, COTA, SLP, SLPA, SLP-CF, PT, PTA, BCBA, and RBT credential types
  • Own the onboarding experience from offer acceptance through 90-day integration, ensuring every new hire feels welcomed and prepared
  • Manage employee relations matters with professionalism, consistency, and care
  • Administer bi-weekly payroll for both corporate locations, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery
  • Oversee benefits administration including health, dental, vision, and ancillary plans, and serve as the primary liaison with brokers and carriers
  • Manage PTO tracking, leave requests, and time-off policy administration
  • Ensure compliance with federal, Texas, and California employment law across both locations
  • Lead offboarding, including exit interviews, final pay, and documentation
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation in our systems
  • Build and manage a structured onboarding curriculum that accelerates time-to-effectiveness for new clinical and administrative hires
  • Track and manage licensure requirements, CEU compliance, and mandatory certifications for clinical staff across both locations
  • Coordinate staff training programs and ensure completion is documented and up to date
  • Partner with clinical leadership to identify professional development needs and create pathways for growth
  • Support manager development by building simple, practical tools and frameworks that help team leads become better people managers
  • Own employee engagement initiatives including surveys, pulse checks, and follow-through on feedback
  • Design and coordinate team events, recognition programs, and culture moments that reflect Little Land's values
  • Draft internal communications on behalf of leadership, including team-wide updates, announcements, and newsletters
  • Analyze turnover data and surface retention risks and opportunities to the CEO proactively
  • Develop, document, and maintain HR policies and employee handbook content, keeping them current and easy to understand
  • Champion a workplace culture where clinical and administrative staff feel equally valued and supported
  • Manage vendor relationships and service contracts relevant to HR, facilities, and internal operations
  • Coordinate facilities needs across Cedar Park and Arcadia, including supply ordering, space management, and vendor scheduling
  • Support the CEO and Chief of Staff with administrative operational needs including process documentation, project tracking, and cross-team coordination
  • Own internal systems and tools used for HR and operations, including HRIS, ATS, and payroll platforms
  • Assist with operational rollout of internal platform improvements as they relate to HR and people workflows
