This position supports Ariel’s Human Resources functions by assisting with recruitment and employee development, managing Safety and Workers’ Compensation responsibilities, and providing additional People Operations support as needed. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Psychology, Sociology, or related field with two years working experience; or, An associate degree in Business Administration, Psychology, Sociology, or related field and a minimum of three years’ experience working in human resources or training and development.
  • Working knowledge of HR ethics and best practices as well as employment laws.
  • The ability to be a positive role model, ensuring accountability and growth through mentoring, supporting, and coaching.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Ariel programs and mission. Ability to actively support and model the Ariel mission and cultural values.
  • Strong working computer knowledge of Microsoft Office, Teams, Adobe, Outlook, Paylocity, and the Intranet, and the ability to learn other software programs and tools as needed.
  • Strong collaboration skills required; must be an effective team player.
  • Ability to build rapport with employees, individuals in service, providers, referral sources, and other agencies, and to remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, conflict resolution, and creativity.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent professional communication and presentation skills - verbally, in written form, and while using training materials and media.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR; SPHR; SHRM Certified Professional (CP) or SCP.
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 5 years Generalist-level or above HR experience.
  • Minimum of three years staff recruiting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist program managers and supervisors with recruitment, interviewing, and reference checks as appropriate. Duties include posting open positions, screening applicants, communicating with candidates, providing applicant information to hiring managers, and completing employment verifications with written employee consent.
  • Track, monitor and report, recruiting data for leadership.
  • Meet with all newly hired employees to review and ensure completion of all required documents during the onboarding process.
  • Facilitate 90 day Stay-Interviews with new hires, providing a safe and positive environment to obtain feedback. Compile and document feedback for leadership review.
  • Serve as the backup Safety Program Coordinator, including the facilitation of the Workplace Violence Prevention and Safety Committee (WVPSC).
  • Manage the Workers’ Compensation function for Ariel, including managing all related documents with the employee and the provider in a timely manner, ensuring Cost Containment processes are completed and accurate, and completing all required reporting tasks as required.
  • Assist and support People Operations Supervisor in the processing of bi-weekly payroll and open enrollment for benefits.
  • Ensure all appropriate documents are accurately filed in employee personnel files. Maintain and track employee requirements, education, and training records.
  • Assist in the administration of position descriptions, classification programs, compensation programs and performance evaluation programs for the agency.
  • Serve as a department point of contact in the absence of the People Operations Director and People Operations Supervisor by providing support to supervisors and managers in areas such as interviewing, hiring, termination, promotion, performance reviews, safety, and risk management, as appropriate.
  • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to applicable Human Resources laws, Ariel policies, and agency procedures. Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Supports agency-wide initiatives by contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic plans, employee wellness programs, and organizational outcomes and measures to promote continuous improvement and alignment with Ariel goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
