Kandu, Inc. is pioneering an integrated approach to stroke recovery by combining FDA-cleared brain-computer interface technology with personalized telehealth services. Our IpsiHand® device is durable medical equipment that enables chronic stroke survivors to regain upper extremity function with daily home use. We’re a growing startup looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and driven People Operations Generalist to join our HR team. Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience working in a fast paced startup environment
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent
  • Experience with California labor laws and employment regulations
  • High sense of urgency and ability to prioritize in a fast-moving environment
  • Super organized and detail-oriented
  • Driven and proactive you see what needs to be done and do it without being asked
  • Personable and approachable, you enjoy working with people at all levels
  • Comfortable with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Slack and HR systems like Rippling or Greenhouse is a plus
  • Bonus if you have experience working in a medical device or digital health/medical company

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions, ensuring a responsive, supportive, and solutions-oriented experience
  • Lead new hire orientation sessions, delivering an engaging introduction to company culture, policies, and tools
  • Support employee engagement efforts, including All Hands meetings and internal communications
  • Maintain and track employee documentation, ensuring accuracy, organization, and compliance
  • Conduct regular audits of HR files and records to ensure completeness and audit readiness
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes for both employees and contractors, ensuring a smooth and consistent experience
  • Organize and maintain HR-related Google Drive folders and documentation
  • Support ongoing process improvements that enhance efficiency across HR operations.
  • Backup support as needed to our Recruiter
  • Track employee trainings and ensure completion of required compliance and learning initiatives
  • Partner with the People team to maintain up-to-date records and reporting related to compliance
  • Assist with execution of company-wide initiatives such as All Hands meetings
  • Support updates to the HR intranet, internal Slack channels, and employee communications
  • Coordinate logistics such as new hire swag kits and other employee experience touchpoints
  • Take initiative on ad hoc People projects and administrative priorities as they arise
  • Assist with launching cultural initiatives
