About The Position

Jacksonville Zoo & Botanical Gardens (JZBG) is seeking a passionate People Operations Manager to lead the design and documentation of HR programs, develop scalable methodologies and tools to optimize HR operations, and streamline core processes. This role will oversee employee data management, ensure accurate and timely reporting and filings, manage HR process outsourcing vendors, and supervise an HR Generalist. The position supports a unique environment, connecting communities with wildlife and wild places.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience
  • At least 2 years managing people
  • Experience in developing and improving processes and systems
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification
  • Strong command of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements
  • Ability to maintain a reliable computer setup for remote work
  • Ability to sit and work at a desk and computer for extended periods
  • Ability to speak clearly and deliver training and presentations
  • Ability to understand spoken communication
  • Ability to read and produce written materials in both print and digital formats

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and documentation of HR programs such as compensation, benefits, and recruitment.
  • Develop scalable methodologies and tools to optimize HR operations and streamline core processes like onboarding, hiring, terminations, rewards, benefits, and timekeeping.
  • Oversee employee data management processes to ensure data security and consistency with company policies and privacy regulations.
  • Ensure reporting and filings are accurate, timely, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate and manage HR process outsourcing vendors and contracts.
  • Ensure project goals are met and adhere to approved budgets.
  • Manage the day-to-day performance of the HR Generalist.
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting from front-line to director level.
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Manage HR systems & analytics, including dashboards, AI-powered tools, workforce metrics, and HRIS oversight.
  • Oversee compensation and benefits, including benchmarking, equity reviews, compliance tracking, and regulatory reporting.
  • Develop training on HR topics and provide HR compliance support for people leaders.
