About The Position

Instacart is seeking a People Experience Program Manager to bring structure, automation, and heart to their new hire orientation and performance review programs. This role is crucial for ensuring new hires feel welcomed and that review cycles run efficiently. The position sits at the intersection of operational excellence and employee experience, with a direct impact on the execution of these key programs. The ideal candidate will be a program manager who can navigate ambiguity, manage complex programs, communicate effectively, and is passionate about creating positive employee experiences.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in program management, learning & development, talent development, or a related people/HR function
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools in a professional context
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects from inception to completion, even when the problem or solution isn't fully defined
  • Proven experience facilitating learning or orientation content for diverse audiences
  • Track record of managing vendor relationships end-to-end: procurement, contract renewals, and ongoing partnership management
  • Located in the SF Bay Area with ability to support in-person orientation components in our San Francisco office

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience with instructional design tools and/or learning management systems
  • Certification in project management (PMP, CAPM, or equivalent)
  • Experience applying AI to automate or redesign people programs at scale

Responsibilities

  • Ensure orientation runs smoothly, managing logistics and vendor relationships.
  • Execute performance review cycles efficiently, meeting timelines and keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Document, optimize, and automate processes that currently require manual effort.
  • Manage vendor relationships for onboarding, including contracts, SOWs, and budget tracking.
  • Facilitate virtual and in-person orientation components.
  • Contribute to content iteration for orientation, bringing operational insights to the design process.
