About The Position

The Training and Development Specialist works within the People and Culture Department in coordination and collaboration with agency partners in development, implementation and facilitation of live and on-line trainings and materials related to the agency needs and objectives. They will provide opportunities for employees to maintain and grow in their job functions and improve performance. The Training & Development Specialist must understand, appreciate, and respect the diversity and cultural differences within our Cascadia community. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
  • Two years of experience providing training or teaching skills is required.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods of training curriculum design and implementation.
  • Ability to deliver teaching and instruction for groups and individuals.
  • MS Office applications.
  • Virtual facilitation using platforms such as MS Teams.
  • Ability to learn new systems and technologies.
  • Operate computer hardware and software at a level needed to effectively perform job functions.
  • Enter and retrieve data.
  • Prepare reports.
  • Ability to lift 20- to 50-pound boxes.
  • Be able to travel to various agency locations throughout the workdays with ability to courier training materials.

Nice To Haves

  • Virtual facilitation experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare/ behavioral health preferred.
  • Experience in EPIC (or other clinical applications) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interact effectively orally and in writing with all levels of staff and leadership.
  • In coordination with team leadership, assess agency training needs and work to develop and implement easily understandable instructional material and live training or research and vet appropriate external training resources.
  • Assist in Learning Management System duties including, creation and maintenance of user accounts, new and existing modules, training plans, and auto-enrollments; recording attendance; running reports; and more.
  • Develop and facilitate training for new employees, students, and current employees in accordance with regulating requirements and agency needs for quality improvement.
  • Maintain knowledge of core-required trainings to provide backup for teammates as needed.
  • Provide Continuing Education (CE) approved trainings offering Continuing Educations Hours where applicable and based upon experience and education.
  • Provide training to new employees, supervisors, and managers on the LMS system and its various capabilities.
  • Support overall agency training needs as directed by leadership.
  • Provide input on all relevant documentation and procedural requirements.
  • Conduct on-site training across the agency and in the community.
  • Maintain punctuality and transport training materials to live trainings at other sites within Cascadia.
  • Adhere to compliance, required laws and trainings, safety of property and staff, regulations, I.e. Mandatory abuse reporting laws and HIPPA, fire regulations
  • Participate in all scheduled staff meetings, supervision sessions, and other departmental and agency meetings.
  • Complete all annul employee training requirements in order to understand how to conduct ethical work, for professional development, and stay in compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
