About The Position

A member of the Office of People Development & Workforce Planning, the People Development Specialist manages the design, delivery, and administration of learning and professional development programs that build workforce capability and strengthen organizational culture. This role partners with stakeholders to deliver high quality, accessible learning experiences across myriad employee populations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, Psychology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four to seven years of progressive experience in learning and development, talent development, or organizational development roles.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and learning program evaluation methods.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills to deliver in person and virtual programs.
  • Strong project management skills; able to manage multiple initiatives in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable improvements.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in a team environment.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and solve complex problems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Demonstrated proficiency with tools such as Qualtrics, Canva, Adobe Acrobat, Zoom, and Teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certification in learning, facilitation, or talent development (e.g., ATD, SHRM, HCI) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate engaging instructor-led, virtual, and blended learning and leadership sessions for staff and faculty.
  • Lead end-to-end coordination of leadership and professional development programs, partnering with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Design and develop training materials including presentations, job aids, and participant guides and microlearning content using adult learning principles.
  • Independently plan and execute learning initiatives, determining appropriate schedules, resources, and delivery methods.
  • Manage training logistics including scheduling, enrollment, materials, communications, and attendance tracking.
  • Analyze LMS and program data to assess effectiveness, identify trends, and recommend program enhancements.
  • Manage approved learning-related financial activities, ensuring compliance with policies and alignment with program goals.
  • Conduct training needs assessments using surveys, interviews, and stakeholder consultation and recommend learning solutions aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Administer and maintain courses, rosters, completions, and reports within the Learning Management System (LMS) and Teams.
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize learner feedback to identify improvement opportunities.
