About The Position

The People & Culture Business Partner (P&C BP) serves as a day-to-day advisor and collaborative partner to leaders across the organization, with a strong focus on employee relations, performance management, and workplace challenges. A significant part of this role is developing credibility with leaders, understanding their operational realities, and helping them work through sensitive conversations, employee concerns, and team dynamics in a way that is fair, practical, and aligned with our values. Grounded in our Employee Promise, Invested in My Fulfillment, Committed to Our Success, this role combines consultative partnership with hands-on support for core People & Culture processes, including employee relations cases, leave and accommodation processes, policy guidance, and other work that shapes the employee experience. This role is well-suited for an experienced HR professional who values trust-building, thoughtful problem-solving, and consistent follow-through.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of progressive HR experience with a strong focus on employee relations and leader partnership
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high‑risk, or sensitive employee relations cases independently
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Comfort operating in both hands‑on administration and strategic consultation
  • Excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and high discretion
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 50% within the service area

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in nonprofit or mission‑driven organizations preferred
  • ADP Workforce Now experience and HR certification (PHR, SHRM‑CP) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary People & Culture partner for leaders, providing day‑to‑day consultation on employee relations, performance management, and team dynamics
  • Lead complex employee relations matters from intake through resolution, including investigations, corrective action, and conflict resolution
  • Coach leaders through sensitive conversations with professionalism, consistency, and sound judgment
  • Conduct root‑cause analysis to identify patterns and recommend sustainable people solutions
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and internal policies
  • Administer ADP‑managed leave of absence programs (FMLA, LOA, state‑mandated leaves), ensuring accurate, timely, and employee‑centered processes
  • Manage the ADA interactive process and workplace accommodations
  • Oversee Workers’ Compensation and unemployment claims, ensuring organized, compliant case management
  • Interpret and apply People & Culture policies clearly and fairly for employees and leaders
  • Partner with the P&C team on policy updates and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Use people data, exit feedback, and trends to inform leadership insights and organizational decisions
  • Champion the Employee Promise and reinforce practices that support engagement, trust, and retention
  • Balance employee advocacy with organizational alignment and business needs
