About The Position

At GHY, our People & Culture team is focused on how we enable our people and leaders to succeed—attracting and retaining top talent while supporting the continued growth of our business. The People & Culture Advisor is a key partner to our Canadian operations and the primary point of contact for leaders and associates across the full employee lifecycle. This role provides practical, people-first guidance on a wide range of HR matters, while ensuring compliance with federal and provincial employment legislation. Working closely with leaders across the organization, the Advisor plays an active role in shaping employee experiences, supporting performance and employee relations matters, and contributing to a culture of accountability and care. This role also partners with our U.S. People & Culture team to support alignment across our cross-border operations. This is a high-impact opportunity for an emerging HR professional looking to deepen their experience, build strong business partnerships, and grow into a trusted advisor role within a dynamic and evolving organization.

Requirements

  • Post‑secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Equivalent education or experience will be considered)
  • CPHR designation (or currently working toward designation) strongly preferred
  • Foundational knowledge of Canadian federal and provincial employment legislation
  • A strong interest in building your career and developing as a trusted advisor within a growing organization
  • People‑first, approachable, and grounded in good judgment
  • Able to balance compliance requirements with empathy and practical solutions
  • Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced work environment
  • Comfortable navigating sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion
  • Collaborative and adaptable, comfortable working across teams and jurisdictions

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary People & Culture partner for Canadian associates and leaders, providing practical, people-first guidance across the employee lifecycle
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for Canadian roles, partnering with leaders to attract and select top talent
  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations, performance management, and workplace investigations
  • Support the Payroll & Benefits Specialist, communicating changes and administering compensation, ensuring accuracy and a strong employee experience
  • Deliver onboarding and administer the engagement and development initiatives that strengthen culture and team effectiveness
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian federal and provincial employment legislation, balancing risk with practical business solutions
  • Partner with U.S. People & Culture colleagues to support alignment across cross-border initiatives and processes
