About The Position

This role supports recruiting initiatives, assists managers with candidate interviewing, selection, and onboarding, and conducts exit interview analysis. It also involves updating job requirements and descriptions, responding to unemployment claims, and partnering with the P&C Director on employee relations. The position assists with payroll processing, including time card review, auditing job codes and rates, filing documentation, and allocation review. A key responsibility is the recruitment of seasonal staffing, managing their arrival and departure schedules, and facilitating airport pickups and drop-offs. The role also handles employment verification, reference checks, and generating offer letters. It works closely with management to coordinate employee activities, fostering an inviting company culture. Ensuring employees are trained to their maximum potential through hotel, brand, and corporate training programs is crucial. This includes monitoring performance and training programs for timely and correct reviews, and reviewing personnel change requests. Maintaining personnel files in compliance with record-keeping requirements, coordinating employee programs and activities for a positive employee experience, and leading onboarding efforts (background checks, I-9s, new hire orientation) are also key duties. The role assists in administering employee risk management, including safety programs, workers' compensation, and compliance trainings. It monitors employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, and composes/distributes HR correspondence. Finally, the position acts as a workplace culture leader, encouraging employee engagement and coaching employees.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to unemployment claims within the designated timeframe
  • Partners with P&C Director in providing guidance to resolve employee relations issues
  • Assist with Payroll Processing and Approvals including but not limited to; time card review, auditing job codes and rates, filing of payroll documentation, allocation review, etc.
  • Recruitment of seasonal staffing meeting levels outlined by the hotels’ staffing guidelines
  • Manages the seasonal staff arrival and departure schedules and facilitates airport pickups and drop-offs
  • Conducts employment verification and reference checks
  • Generates offer letters
  • Works closely with GM/managers to coordinate employee activities including holidays, special events, and community activities creating an inviting culture at the company
  • Ensure that employees are trained and utilized to their maximum potential by controlling the implementation, administration and monitoring of hotel, brand, and corporate training programs
  • Monitor the employee performance and training programs to ensure reviews are completed timely and correctly
  • Review personnel change requests and intake supporting documentation for record-keeping
  • Maintain personnel files, ensuring compliance with record-keeping requirements
  • Coordinate employee programs and activities including employee recognition and service award ceremonies, social functions, and general hotel meetings, to maintain a positive employee experience
  • Lead onboarding efforts for all hotel positions which includes background checks, I-9s and new hire orientation
  • Assist in the administration of employee risk management including safety programs, workers compensation, and other compliance trainings
  • Monitor employee leaves of absences including FMLA with oversight from Director of People & Culture
  • Compose and distribute general Human Resources correspondence, such as those announcing policy revisions
  • Perform duties, special assignments and projects as requested by management
  • Be a workplace culture leader around Chico – encourage employee engagement, participation, and help develop and coach line-level and managerial employees
