About The Position

The People Advisor assists with the daily operations and administration of the North America People Team. The position supports HR initiatives, projects, and engagement while ensuring consistent and thorough communication. The position has some payroll administration responsibilities, including, but not limited to what’s outlined below.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Human Resources
  • Demonstrated success in an administrative environment
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office product suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong follow-up skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize work effectively
  • Ability to always maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
  • PHR/SHRM CP or equivalent
  • Knowledge of employment laws and practices

Responsibilities

  • Provide tactical, day-to-day administrative People support to the business, (e.g. field questions from all employee levels, serving as the subject matter expert for programs, policies, systems, and other related items)
  • Maintain and organize employee personnel files, inclusive of employee participation in training, wellness, and compliance programs
  • Maintain electronic job description files
  • Prepare new employee personnel files and paperwork
  • Facilitate new employee onboarding and orientation
  • Administer background checks
  • Provide support with planning and roll-out programs such as performance management, talent management, training, etc.
  • Provide support with terminations, severance agreements and disciplinary action as needed
  • Monitor I-9 compliance, routinely updating files and keeping information up to date
  • Serve as primary contact for any employee recognition programs
  • Provide support with the recruiting process (when needed) by posting/closing positions, sourcing, screening and scheduling interviews for potential candidates with hiring manager
  • Assist with administration of annual open enrollment and other wellness initiatives or events
  • Partner with payroll provider for: Timekeeping & Data Validation, Payroll Data Entry & Maintenance, Payroll Support & Pre-Processing, Employee Payroll Inquiries, Payroll Reporting & Recordkeeping
  • Generate and distribute routine payroll reports (earnings, deductions, headcount summaries)
  • Maintain organized payroll documentation to support audits and compliance requirements
